The emirate of Dubai – the old fishing center which was originally made up of two major geographical sections, namely Deira and Bur Dubai, is now a busy, thriving dynamic metropolis housing several renowned communities like Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina and Arabian Ranches.
Many expatriates who have made Dubai their home get to enjoy the pleasant winter weather from the months of October to March, with the sweltering summer heat concentrated in the months of April to September.
For people looking to buy a Dubai vacation home, invest in property, or relocate to the emirate because of work or business, there are plenty of well-established communities worth considering before making a move to Dubai.
Located right at the heart of Dubai Festival City, Al Badia Residences features apartments and townhouse units set against a beautifully green backdrop of landscaped areas and trees. The community has the advantage of having its own golf club, and being located in a relatively quiet area with great access to the nearby mall having the one and only IKEA in the emirate. Two of the prominent schools located in the area are Deira International School and Universal American School.
Think hacienda, horseback riding, golfing and plenty of open spaces to enjoy, and you have the very popular Arabian Ranches – an established desert-themed development that has kept on growing since it was first launched way back in December 2002 on 1,650 acres of land. Located close to Global Village, the neighborhood houses one of Dubai’s premier English medium schools – Jumeirah English Speaking School, and a Raffles Nursery.
Without a doubt, Dubai Marina is one of the most popular addresses keenly sought after by expatriates living in the emirate. Considered one of the region’s largest waterfront communities, the vibrant neighborhood includes an eclectic mix of urban architectural styles as reflected in the various mixed-use towers, hotels, restaurants, and evening haunts. Home to the JBR building complex, Dubai Marina is also famous for its Marina Walk, Dubai Marina Mall, and The Beach and The Walk at JBR. Check out Sulafa Tower in Dubai Marina.
If you hear anything about The Lakes, The Springs, The Meadows, The Greens and Emirates Hills, all of these communities are part of the massive Emirates Living development. Located just off Dubai’s main thoroughfare Shaikh Zayed Road, Emirates Living enjoys an enviable location close to major business, leisure and shopping conveniences, and is popular for its beautiful golf courses and lifestyle amenities for wholesome family living. A number of reputable schools are located in the area like Emirates International School, Dubai British School, Dubai International Academy, Jebel Ali Nursery and Raffles International School.
When it comes to Green Community, you can choose between two locations: Dubai Investments Park and MotorCity. Both versions of the Green Community are known for being built on eco-friendly principles aside from actually being great places for raising a family. Unlike other communities that have focused on villa developments, both Green Community neighborhoods also feature great apartment-style living options.
Definitely among the oldest and most prominent Dubai neighborhoods that continue to hold an important place in the city, Jumeirah and Umm Suqueim are neighboring communities strategically located along Shaikh Zayed Road on the Arabian Gulf side. Safa Park, Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel are located along this vast stretch, as well as the ever-popular Jumeirah Open Beach, clinics, hospitals and a number of prominent Dubai schools like Jumeirah Primary School, Raffles International School, Kings Dubai and Emirates International School, and several nurseries.
Considered by most to be the ultimate answer to the emirate’s need for low to medium-cost housing needs, Dubailand is one massive space of 3 billion square feet (278 sq.km.) dedicated for the construction of several sports, leisure and entertainment projects as well as a number of established and currently-being-built residential developments. Schools located in or close to Dubailand include GEMS Metropole (MotorCity) and GEMS FirstPoint School (The Villa), GEMS New Millennium School Al Khail, GEMS Wellington Academy (DSO), GEMS International School (Al Khail), Foremarke School Dubai (DuBiotech) and Victory Heights Primary School (DSC).
Already mentioned in the section on Green Community, MotorCity is one of the more successful and desirable residential communities in Dubailand housing both Green Community MotorCity and UPTOWN MotorCity, aside from Business Park MotorCity and the Dubai Autodrome. UPTOWN MotorCity was designed to resemble an old English spa town, and a quick glance at the area would tell you that a lot of Dubaites have indeed made it (and Green Community MC) their home.
Nestled in the Liwan section of Dubailand, Queue Point stands out in the remarkably-designed Liwan community inspired by the San Francisco neighborhood in the USA. Spread throughout the themed districts of The Suburb, Downtown, The Ridge and The Golden Gate District and Park comprising Liwan, Queue Point properties are distinctly build to echo the look of each section.
Located along Bypass Road, close to MotorCity and Arabian Ranches, Remraam is a popular Dubailand community featuring a mix of high-rise and low rise residential buildings. As a self-contained community, Remraam has everything needed by residents including convenience retail, children’s play areas, a community park and swimming pools, sports facilities, a community mosque, etc.
One of the more prominent communities in the Dubailand Residence Complex, Skycourts comprises six towers housing apartments and commercial units. The award-winning community provides for all the comforts of daily living, with amenities like high-tech gyms, swimming pools, children’s play areas, men’s and ladies’ salons, convenience retail, and the like.
Part of the larger Dubai Sports City development, Victory Heights is one among a number of residential communities established in the grand DSC sports complex which also features sports academies, stadiums, a world-class golf course and an arena. Golfing enthusiasts will especially feel right at home in this community.
Considered one of the premier villa developments in Dubailand, this large Spanish-themed, self-contained villa community has been quite popular among residents in search of a home with a distinctively Mediterranean flavor. The Villa is located very close to Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) and Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO). Check out our Andalusia Collection at The Villa.
Other notable ongoing and future developments in Dubailand include buildings like Ajmal Sarah Tower and Windsor Residence, and community projects like Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid City, Pacific Village, Palmarosa, City of Arabia, Dubai Lifestyle City and Living Legends.
Some of the other noteworthy and already established communities in Dubailand are Remraam, Skycourt Towers, Queue Point at Liwan, Al Waha Villas, Layan Community, Al Barari and Mudon.
